Augeas is developing an innovative solution to improve waste collection and sorting in underserved regions, especially in emerging countries. The project involves creating smart containers, dedicated to each type of waste, that reward residents for sorting correctly. These robust, low-cost, and easy-to-deploy containers integrate image recognition technology and a digital incentive system accessible from any phone.

The collected and sorted waste is then sold as raw materials to local recycling centers, creating a circular value chain. By making waste management economically viable through simple and traceable infrastructures, Augeas aims to reduce global pollution and sustainably improve sanitary conditions in the most vulnerable areas.
